As the case progresses, Kris discovers that there are several potential suspects, including a local businessman, a corrupt politician, and a disgruntled employee of the victim's company. With the help of his team, Kris is able to piece together the puzzle and identify the killer. It turns out that the suspect was actually the corrupt politician, who had been blackmailing the victim for years. The politician had been trying to extort money from the victim in exchange for silence, but when the victim refused to pay up, the politician went to extreme lengths to eliminate him. Kris' investigation ultimately leads to the arrest of the corrupt politician and the conviction of the other suspects. The victim's family is finally able to move on with their lives, and Kris is hailed as a hero by both the public and his colleagues.
