Robert Tucker, a sorrowful and solitary man, struggles to balance his life with the care for his aging mother, his Catholic faith, his homosexuality, and his dull job. One night, after his mother has gone to bed, he dons leather and heads to a private club. He calls a tattoo artist with a special request. He goes to confession, accusing himself of despair. During a nightmare, he cries out and awakens his mother. "You're a good boy," she is told him. He prays the Stations of the Cross and lives out his own sorrowful mysteries.
