Trevor is a 16-year-old teenager who exhibits violent tendencies and displays little respect for authority. He prefers to spend his time stealing cars rather than being sent to detention, a facility where he is supposed to be held accountable for his actions. Despite the best efforts of his social worker, Harry Parker, Trevor remains oblivious to the situation and only shows interest when there are opportunities to escape or gain something. The authorities within the detention center strive to mold Trevor into a more conformist member of society, but he disregards these efforts and instead engages in heated discussions about race and language, often using four-letter words and racial abuse.
