Leopold Kroner, once a successful businessman at Colby Enterprises, was sentenced to five years in prison for embezzlement. After his release, he returned to the company and quickly became a problem. Andrew Colby, the company's CEO, hired lawyer Bob Regan as a secret bodyguard to protect him from Kroner.
Kroner soon made his presence known in Colby's office, where he threatened Colby with a gun. Regan, who had been hired to protect Colby, took action and killed Kroner. However, Regan did not stay to protect Colby's secretary, Noel. Instead, he began to suspect that he was being used by Kroner.
As Regan continued to work for Colby, he began to question his loyalty and trustworthiness. He felt betrayed by the fact that Kroner had threatened him and killed him, but he also felt that his actions were justified. He believed that he was protecting Colby and the company from Kroner's malice.
Despite his suspicions, Regan continued to work for Colby, even after he learned that Kroner had survived his assassination attempt. He believed that Kroner would come after him again, and he was prepared to face any consequences.
In the end, Regan realized that he had been used by Kroner all along. He had been manipulated by Kroner into believing that he was protecting Colby and the company, when in reality, Kroner was using him to further his own agenda. As a result, Regan decided to leave Colby Enterprises and start a new life away from the danger and manipulation of the old one.
