Peel Munter, a young man left alone by his mother after her unexpected death, is forced to make a difficult choice: stay in the confines of his childhood home and live as he did before, or break out into the unknown world and face the trials and tribulations of an unfamiliar life.
Unable to pay the house payments, Peel decides to take in a couple of drifters as roommates. After forging what seems to be a new family and brotherhood, one of the roommates betrays Peel's trust and forces him to venture out in search of his long-lost real brothers who had been taken away from him decades ago.
As Peel travels across the country, he meets a group of marginalized misfits who are searching for their true home. Despite his lack of cynicism and innocence, Peel brings them closer to their true homes, helping them find acceptance and belonging.
In the end, Peel realizes that he has found his true home within himself and the people around him. He has learned to embrace his past and present, and he knows that he will always have a place in his heart for those he has encountered along the way.
