Adolfo (55), a renowned short story writer, decides to create his first novel and gives his daughter Dalia the gift of crafting a character for the story. Dalia, like her stuffed animal, chooses a goat. After her father's passing, Dalia is kidnapped by the characters from the story. Through a portal, they transform her into a character in "The Red Book." While she struggles with Goat's help to find a way out, she confronts the other characters who are determined to become the main characters of the book. She is the only one capable of writing the final chapter, though she doesn't feel confident enough.
Dalia has only 12 hours, a blank page, and a pen to complete the story. The adventure within the book leads her to uncover who her father's friends and enemies were. She writes the ending and discovers whether she wants to follow in her father's footsteps as a writer or not.
