Jonas, a 40-something Parisian, is still in love with his ex-girlfriend Léa. When he tries to confess his feelings to her, she rejects him and sends him away. He ends up at the café downstairs where he finds inspiration and writes her a long love letter, avoiding everything he was supposed to do that day. What begins as a last attempt to get her back surprisingly turns into a vivid musing on the state of his life. Over the course of a day, Jonas is helped by a wisecracking bartender and an array of patrons from the neighborhood. He has to face his past relationships, his uncertain future, and most of all, himself. As he reflects on his life, he realizes that he has been living a lie for so long. He has been pretending to be someone he is not, and it's time to break free from this cycle. With the help of his friends, he starts to make changes in his life and finally embraces who he really is. In the end, Jonas realizes that true love is not about getting back with Léa, but about finding happiness in his own skin. He decides to leave Paris and start a new chapter in his life, knowing that he will never forget Léa or the memories they shared together.
