The Great Barrier Reef, also known as the World's Largest and Longest Coral Reef System, is located in the Southern Hemisphere, stretching along Australia's northeast coast. It extends from the Torres Strait to the south of the Tropic of Cancer, spanning a total distance of 2011 kilometers with its widest section reaching 161 kilometers. This reef system consists of 2900 coral islands, offering unique natural landscapes.
At its southernmost point, the reef system is over 241 kilometers away from the shoreline, while at its northernmost end, it is closer, only 16 kilometers from the coast. During low tide, some of the coral reefs can be seen above water forming coral islands.

In 1981, the Great Barrier Reef was included in the World Natural Heritage list. Sixty years later, Prince Edward Island visited again, utilizing cutting-edge technology in deep-sea diving to explore previously undiscovered depths.
