Serhiy, a Ukrainian surgeon captured by the Russian military in Eastern Ukraine, was subjected to horrific experiences during his captivity. He witnessed scenes of humiliation, violence, and indifference towards human life. Upon his release, he returned to his comfortable middle-class apartment and sought to find purpose in his life by reconnecting with his daughter and ex-wife. He learned how to be a human being again, how to be a father and help his daughter, who needed his love and support.
