In the year 2001, a temporary ceasefire brings a much-needed break to a small war-torn village in Northern Nepal, bringing much joy among the residents. Prakash and Kiran, two young friends from different social backgrounds, are also starting to feel the change in the air. Though they are divided by caste and social creed, they remain inseparable, and start raising a hen given to Prakash by his sister, with hopes to save money by selling her eggs. However, the hen goes missing. To find it, they embark on a journey, innocently unaware of the tyranny brought by the fragile ceasefire.
Prakash and Kiran's journey takes them through various terrains, where they encounter various challenges and obstacles. They meet people who are struggling with poverty, disease, and lack of education. They witness firsthand the harsh realities faced by these individuals, and begin to question their own privileged lives.
As they continue on their journey, they come across a group of rebels who have taken control of the region. They are determined to reclaim their land from the new regime and bring back peace to their village. The two friends become sympathetic to their cause and decide to help them in any way possible.
Their efforts pay off when they successfully rescue the hen and return her to its rightful owner. The owner is grateful for their help, and offers them a reward. However, Prakash and Kiran refuse the reward, stating that they have learned enough lessons about the world and its injustices.
The story ends with the two friends returning to their village, having grown up and matured as human beings. They now understand the importance of empathy, compassion, and standing up for what is right. Their journey has taught them the true meaning of friendship and how it can transcend social barriers and bring about positive change in the world.
