Charlotte, a 60-year-old woman, is on a road trip with her granddaughter Jo and an old cat. Her husband Paul and daughter Alex are left puzzled and somewhat shocked by the decision. Charlotte and Jo's first impulse is to run away, but as they get farther away from home and out of their old patterns, they begin to dive deep into the here and now, facing their fears and welcoming the surprises that only life and love can offer. However, Paul catches up to them and has to learn how to dream again before he can get his wife back. Meanwhile, Alex falls deeply in love with someone she would never have expected. And Jo realizes that there is more between heaven and earth than she will ever get out of her scientific book collection...
