Nala, a 13-year-old girl from the city, travels with her family to her grandmother's home in the countryside, to try to find a cure for her little sister's mysterious illness. However, she soon finds that her granny is not what she seems. As they settle in, Nala begins to explore her grandmother's home and discovers hidden passages, secret rooms, and even a small library filled with ancient books. She also meets other members of the family who seem to know more about their past than they're letting on. But as she digs deeper into the family's history, Nala realizes that there are secrets lurking beneath the surface - secrets that could have deadly consequences if they ever come to light. And when her sister starts exhibiting strange behavior, Nala knows that she must uncover the truth before it's too late.
