Can I Get a Witness? is a science fiction novel that explores the consequences of an anthropogenic collapse. The world, which is nearing its end due to overpopulation and environmental degradation, has banned technological advancements and mandates people to live until they reach the age of 50.

Kiah is paired with Daniel, a young man who performs the contractual elements of each person's end-of-life ceremony. He sets up the packages when the time comes and performs the burials. However, his new coworker, who is struggling to handle the emotional impacts of the job, is having a hard time adjusting to their new reality.
