When Hannah's parents decided to send her to a new school, they believed it would be a fresh start for her. However, Hannah is 11 years old and has an autism diagnosis, making it difficult for her to communicate verbally. She had a twin sister named Angel, but when Angel passed away, Hannah was forbidden from grieving and punished if she sought comfort from her sister's belongings.
Now, Hannah lives in a silent life of despair, fearing that her parents will soon take her away. But when a knife keeps appearing under her pillow and a voice she thinks is coming from within her head refuses to go away, Hannah begins to suspect that she may have an ally not of this world. Could it be Angel, who has come from the "other side" to seek justice for all the abuse she has suffered? Can Hannah overcome her fear enough to let her in?
