Near future. Mankind is successfully exploring space: now a huge Delta station is located in the Earth's orbit. Maksim Bortnikov is one of the members of the station repair team. An unexpected catastrophe caused by a proton storm cuts off Maksim from the rest, and he is left alone in outer space. Maksim Bortnikov is an experienced astronaut who has spent years working on the Delta station. He is part of a team that repairs and maintains the station, which is crucial for the survival of humanity in space. As he steps onto the platform, he sees the first signs of the storm. Lightning strikes the station, and thunder echoes through the air. Maksim shields himself from the rain and lightning, knowing that he needs to get back inside as soon as possible. But as he turns to go, he hears a strange noise coming from the darkness. It sounds like a mechanical whirring, and he can't quite make out what it is. Curiosity getting the better of him, he steps closer to investigate. As he gets closer, he realizes that there's a large object floating in the sky above the station. It looks like a spaceship, but it's too far away to identify its features. Maksim stands still, watching as the object moves closer and closer to the station. Suddenly, the object explodes, sending debris flying everywhere. Maksim ducks down behind a nearby shield, trying to protect himself from the flying debris. As he waits for the dust to settle, he realizes that this is no ordinary spaceship.
