Jennifer, a seventeen-year-old misfit punk teenager, has a troubled upbringing. She is self-inflicted and has fixation for death. She misses her father and mother, who have difficulty communicating with her due to their differences in personality.
While looking for a job, she meets the forty-nine-year-old Randall Harris, an unsociable man who owns a shopping store. Despite their differences, they become close friends and share their experiences, which changes their behavior for the better. However, as they get closer, secrets and feelings are revealed, leading to more complex emotions and relationships.
