The remake of the 1970 Neil Simon comedy follows the adventures of married couple Henry and Nancy Clark as they are vexed by misfortune while in New York City for a job interview. The film opens with a flashback to their wedding day, which is interrupted by a phone call from Henry's father who informs him that his mother has died. The couple then travel to New York to meet with their potential employers, only to be met with rejection after failing to impress them.
