Kimberly Jantzen is a single mother who works as a gas station pump jockey while she studies to become a nurse. In some circles, she is considered "white trash". One night after drinking at the local pub, she gets into a physical altercation with her ex-boyfriend, Billy. Their fight and break-up are due to Kimberly catching him cheating on her. At the hospital emergency room, Kimberly is treated by Dr. Richard Darian, one of the wealthiest and most respected people in town. However, under heavy sedation, Kimberly believes that Dr. Darian raped her, but cannot prove it. Feeling hopeless about getting justice in Rickerby, she files charges against Dr. Darian.
