Jack Mooney is settling into the sun-soaked island of Saint-Marie, where he finds himself faced with some impossible mysteries to solve. A champion poker player, seemingly poisoned in front of an astonished audience, has been murdered. A novelist, who was killed in a plot more surprising than anything he’s ever written, has also met his end. And finally, a spiritual leader has been strangled at a time when all the suspects were each other's alibis. Despite his laconic style, Jack's sharp mind and relentless determination make him a brilliant detective. He'll need all his instinctive genius to solve these perplexing murders.
