A young girl stays with her estranged grandparents in the city while she waits for the results of her audition for an international performance group. Her grandparents welcome her, delighted about the chance to get to know their granddaughter better. While staying at the house, the girl gets to know her uncle, who suffers from a mysterious long-term lung illness and is mainly confined to bed. She also observes her grandmother's weird religious rituals, some involving a swimming pool in the basement. When the girl's father finds out that she is staying with his parents, he persuades his sister to visit the house to get her out, ending with a terrible tragedy. The girl's mother visits the house, but upon seeing her daughter, she is shocked to find out that her daughter is living with her estranged grandparents. One day, the girl notices that her grandmother is not attending mass on purpose and begins to suspect that something is not right. She confronts her grandmother, who initially denies any wrongdoing but eventually admits to having a secret relationship with a priest. The girl is shocked and upset by what she has discovered, but her grandmother assures her that it is nothing to worry about and that they will be able to resolve the issue soon. Meanwhile, the girl's father receives the results of her audition and discovers that she has been accepted into the international performance group. He is overjoyed and immediately calls his sister to tell her the good news. The sister, however, is still angry at her brother for allowing his daughter to stay with her grandparents and refuses to believe his words. The girl's uncle, who is now feeling better after receiving the news, tries to persuade his sister to come over and meet his daughter. But when she arrives, she is shocked to see her brother's girlfriend and is furious at the idea of meeting her. The uncle tries to explain that he has feelings for his sister and that he would like to introduce her to his daughter. But the sister remains unconvinced and leaves without meeting the girl. The following morning, the uncle is found dead in his bedroom, with a note explaining that he had been trying to convince his sister to visit the house and meet his daughter. The girl is devastated by the loss of her uncle and feels responsible for his death. She visits her grandmother, who comforts her by saying that she was only trying to help her brother and that she should not blame herself. The girl decides to leave the house and return home, where she meets her father who is also devastated by the news of his sister's death. The family grieves together and tries to come to terms with the loss of their loved ones.
