Thelma Post (June Squibb) is a 93-year-old grandmother who has also been a victim of a phone scam. Selma has suffered a significant loss, but these fraudsters have really gone too far. With the reluctant help of a friend and his mobility scooter, Selma begins her search for the scammers.
This film is based on the experiences of its screenwriter and director, Josh Maloof, who grew up in the same house as his grandmother, which was also his inspiration. It marks Jun E. Squibb's first leading role in over 70 years and serves as a celebration and a refreshing twist on the genre of action films, as well as an exploration of aging and autonomy.
