Christmas 1944: A tale of love, betrayal, and survival during the Holocaust.
In 1944, the world was on the brink of war. The Soviet Union had invaded Hungary, and German soldiers were brutally raping and murdering women and children. One such victim was Irén, a young Hungarian woman who was dragged away from her small village by the Germans. When Irén was reunited with her mother, she learned that Rajmund had been killed in a bombing raid. Irén was devastated but knew that she must continue to live and fight for what was right.
