Joyce rents out a room in her house and becomes dangerously obsessed with one of her guests. She is a lonely widow who has been living alone for years, but she is not content with her life and longs for companionship.
One day, she meets a young man named John, who seems to be the perfect match for her. They quickly hit it off and spend time together every evening. Joyce starts to develop feelings for John, and soon they are spending more time than ever before.
As their relationship grows stronger, Joyce becomes increasingly dependent on John's attention and affection. She becomes jealous of other women that he spends time with, and even goes as far as to try to sabotage their friendship by spreading rumors about them.
However, John is not interested in dating anyone else, and he is completely focused on his relationship with Joyce. He tries to ignore the rumors and focus on the two of them, but Joyce becomes increasingly desperate and begins to take extreme measures to get back at John.
One night, Joyce decides to make things difficult for John by locking him in his bedroom and leaving him without food or water for hours. When John finally manages to escape from the locked room, he is furious and confronts Joyce about what she has done.
Joyce is devastated by John's reaction and realizes that she has gone too far. She apologizes profusely and begs for his forgiveness, but John is not willing to let her forget about the incident. He tells Joyce that she needs to leave his house immediately, and he will never speak to her again unless she does so.
Overwhelmed with regret and guilt, Joyce reluctantly leaves John's house and returns home empty-handed. She spends the rest of the day reflecting on her actions and contemplating whether or not she made the right decision.
In the end, Joyce realizes that she has made a terrible mistake and must learn from her mistakes if she wants to avoid repeating them in the future. She vows to be a better person and focus on building meaningful relationships instead of being consumed by her own desires.
