Megan, a detective, is called to investigate the death of a middle-aged man who was killed in a car accident while driving off an embankment. As she and her team investigate the scene, they discover that there are multiple suspects and that the circumstances of the accident are far from clear. As Megan drives through the suburban cul-de-sac, she notices that everything seems out of place. The perfect picket fences that usually surround the houses seem to be missing, and the neighborhood is quieter than usual. She also sees that some of the cars on the street have been left parked for days, and the lawns are overgrown. When Megan arrives at the crime scene, she is startled by the chaos. The car that hit the man had been abandoned in the middle of the road, with the engine running and the doors open. The driver's seat is empty, and the dashboard is covered in blood. Megan and her team begin to piece together the events of the day, trying to determine what happened. One of the first things that Megan notices is the number of people around the scene. There are several people gathered around the car, talking and pointing in various directions. Megan approaches one of them, a woman named Sarah, who seems to be the only person who has any knowledge of the incident. Sarah explains that she saw the car speeding down the road before it crashed into the embankment. She says that she heard a loud noise and then saw the car coming towards her house. She runs to her front door, but the car hits her before she can get inside. Megan asks Sarah about her family, but Sarah seems uninterested in talking about them. Instead, she focuses on explaining how she knew the man who was driving the car. She says that she recognized him from a few weeks ago when he stopped by her house to ask for directions. He seemed nervous and upset, and she thought something might have happened to him. Megan and her team continue to investigate the scene, looking for clues and witnesses. They find a note lying on the ground near the car, which reads: "I'm sorry." It appears to have been written by someone who was in the car when it crashed. As they search for more information, Megan notices that there are other cars parked in the area, some of which are owned by people who live nearby. They eventually learn that a local gangster, known as "The Bull," is suspected of being involved in the crash. Some of the members of The Bull's crew are known to be violent and reckless drivers. As Megan works to solve the case, she becomes increasingly concerned about the potential dangers that lie ahead. The investigation may uncover more secrets and betrayals than she ever imagined, and she must do everything in her power to protect herself and those she cares about.
