A lawyer, Klaus Burg and his teenage daughter have been relocated to a remote Icelandic village, after entering the Witness Protection Program. As they settle into their new life, Burg is determined to find out what happened to his daughter's friend, who disappeared from the town years ago. Burg's investigation leads him to a mysterious figure in the town, who claims to be an old acquaintance of the missing girl. As Burg digs deeper, he uncovers a web of secrets and lies that threaten to expose the truth about the disappearance and the lives of those involved.
