Sam is a foreigner, far from home, searching for his biological father Lagzdins. He is on the edge of a mythical forest, lost in the remotest part of Eastern Europe. Suddenly, he meets Kirke, a pig-farmer's daughter.
Kirke is kind and hospitable. She offers Sam shelter and food, but she also has a hidden agenda. She wants to capture Sam and make him a slave on her farm.
Sam is alone and unable to speak the language. He is chained up with the pigs 24/7. Despite his struggles, he starts to adapt and learn to live with the pigs.
As time passes, Sam gains confidence and begins to feel more at ease. He starts to understand the language and learns about the life of the pig farmers.
Finally, Sam discovers that Kirke is not his biological mother but rather his biological father's mistress. She had been trying to find him all along and now wants to claim him as her own.
In the end, Sam escapes from Kirke's farm and finds his way back to his homeland. He learns that he is not alone and that he has a family waiting for him.
