Villefranche, a sleepy town nestled in the heart of a dense forest, is on the brink of extinction. The once bustling city has seen its population dwindle to almost nothing, with only a few remaining inhabitants struggling to survive amidst the eerie silence of the forest. However, things have taken a sinister turn as the number of fresh corpses discovered by police inspector Laurène keeps rising. Laurène, once a victim of a brutal crime herself, is haunted by the memories of her traumatic experience and the sense that something sinister is lurking in the shadows of the forest. With no sign of life in the town, she becomes increasingly paranoid, convinced that the disappearances are not random but rather part of a sinister plan orchestrated by someone or something unknown. As she investigates the latest case, Laurène stumbles upon a hidden tunnel leading deep into the forest. Curiosity getting the better of her, she follows the tunnel deeper into the darkness, only to find herself face-to-face with a horrifying sight. The tunnel ends at a small clearing, and in the center of it stands a towering figure, its eyes glowing red in the darkness. The figure turns towards Laurène, revealing itself to be a creature unlike any she had ever encountered before. It is a twisted, monstrous form that seems to be slowly consuming the life out of the surrounding trees. As Laurène watches in horror, the creature begins to unleash a deafening roar, causing the ground to shake and debris to rain down from above. With nowhere to run, Laurène realizes that she must fight back if she hopes to escape this nightmare. She draws her pistol and prepares for battle, but as she fires, she realizes that her weapon is useless against this creature's strength and speed. Desperately trying to think of a way to defeat the beast, Laurène finally comes up with a plan - she will use the creature's own weakness to take it down.
