Street Sharks is an American animated television series that aired on the Fox network from 1994 to 1995. It was produced by DIC Entertainment and features a half-man/half-shark duo known as the Street Sharks, who are tasked with stopping a group of evil scientists known as Dr. Bolton's Seaviates from transforming citizens into mutants without their free will.
The show's first episode introduces the main characters, including Dr. Paradigm, a university professor who experiments on marine life using gene-manipulation techniques. When his research goes awry, he transforms two of his sons, John, Bobby, Coop, and Clint, into sharks. The brothers plan to capture Dr. Paradigm so they can return him to human form and expose his genetic experiments.
As the series progresses, Dr. Paradigm begins to convince the residents of Fission City that the Street Sharks are dangerous killers who were mutated by their father, Dr. Bolton. The brothers team up every episode to stop Paradigm and his deadly Seaviates from transforming citizens into mutants with no free will. One of the brothers' favorite catchphrases is "Jawsome," and their favorite food consists of hamburgers and french fries (although they're capable of eating just about anything).
The show also features a number of other supporting characters, such as Dr. Bolton's assistant, Dr. Echo, who is obsessed with finding Paradigm and restoring order to Fission City. Additionally, the show has been known to reference popular children's cartoons, such as the Teenage Mutant Ninja Turtles, and has been created to promote an existing Mattel toy line of the same name.
