Following a promotion to Detective Inspector, Barnaby is joined by Charlie Nelson, who has moved from London to Midsomer Mallow. The villagers of Midsomer are trying to awaken the ghost of Rosie, the Blacksmith's daughter, following a murder during the Manor House's Fright Night. As Nelson is thrown into the deep end of the investigation, will Barnaby and Nelson be able to unravel the mysteries that lie behind the ghost stories or will the eccentricities of the villagers hinder their investigation?
