This is a modern adaptation of the French novel "Bonjour Tristesse" by Françoise Sagan. The story follows Cécile, a young woman spending the summer in a villa in the south of France with her widowed father Raymond and his latest love interest, Elsa. Their relationship is lived-in and comfortable, but everything changes when Anne, an old friend of Raymond and Cécile's mother, arrives. Anne's connection to the past alters the villa's mood. While their way of life seems mismatched, an attraction forms between them. Desperate to regain control, Cécile sets in motion a plan to drive Anne away with tragic consequences.
