Andrew Yancy (Vince Vaughn) has been bounced from the Miami Police Department and now works as a health inspector in the Keys. One day, he stumbles upon a case that begins with a human arm being fished up by tourists. Realizing this could lead to murder charges, he decides to investigate further. As he digs deeper into the case, he discovers that there are several people connected to it, including a local business owner named John (Jon Favreau), who is accused of stealing the arm. But before Yancy can bring him to justice, he encounters a group of strange characters who seem to be involved in the case. One of them is a man named Frank (Johnny Depp), who claims to be a voodoo priest and has been helping people with their problems for years. Another character is a woman named Lisa (Adrienne Barbeau), who seems to have a mysterious past and is constantly getting into trouble. As Yancy delves deeper into the case, he realizes that the situation is much more complicated than he first thought. The arm was actually found by a tourist who had been bitten by a monkey while exploring an abandoned island. The monkey had been carrying the arm to its nest, which led to the discovery of the body. Yancy soon realizes that there is more to the story than meets the eye. He uncovers a conspiracy involving a group of criminals who are trying to use the arm's powers for their own gain. As he fights to solve the case and bring the culprits to justice, he also learns about the dangers of trusting strangers and the importance of staying true to oneself.
