简介：Straub-Huillet's adaptation of Heinrich Böll's biting satire Bonn Diary presents the reflections of a reactivated officer who is summoned to the West German capital by the Ministry of Defense to establish an Academy for Military Memories. Straub considered his film to be an intervention against German rearmament in the Adenauer era: "Machorka-Muff" is the story of a rape, the rape of a country on which an army has been imposed, a country which would have been happier without one. In "Machorka-Muff," Mr. Straub, employing the cold, somewhat expressionistic but always loquacious approach of his other films, comes closest to underlining the almost subliminal irony of his themes. He briefly outlines, through the performance of Colonel Machorka-Muff, a former Nazi who is reinstated in the Adenauer regime, the unchanging thinking of the Nazi and/or the military mind. As the colonel of the title, Dr. Johannes Eckhardt is properly cold and convincing as the believer in the rights of the soldier. Although it is the shortest and earliest of Mr. Straub's films, it is both the most lucid of his works and the most clearly indicative of his potential as an imaginative filmmaker.

The body of Gilbranson is found in the woods, with no signs of struggle or violence. The police believe that someone must have killed Gilbranson and then disposed of the body to avoid suspicion. Miss Marple arrives at the scene and takes over the investigation. She begins to question everyone involved, including Carrie and Lewis. She notices that Carrie has been acting strangely lately and is hiding something from her husband. Lewis also seems nervous and unsettled, as if something is bothering him. As Miss Marple digs deeper into the case, she uncovers a connection between Carrie and Lewis. It turns out that Carrie had been having an affair with Lewis for years, but they had kept it a secret from each other. When they discovered their relationship was not good enough, they decided to end it. However, they were still in love with each other and continued to see each other secretly. Miss Marple realizes that Carrie and Lewis were responsible for the murder of Gilbranson. They had planned to kill him and then use his body to cover up their affair. They believed that by killing him, they could keep their relationship hidden and continue seeing each other without anyone knowing. However, when they realized that their plan was too risky, they decided to dispose of Gilbranson's body instead. This led to the discovery of the trail of blood and the murder itself. Miss Marple confronts Carrie and Lewis about their involvement in the murder and their deceitful behavior. She tells them that they will be charged with the death of Gilbranson and sentenced to prison for their crimes. In the end, Carrie and Lewis are convicted of the murder and sent to prison. Miss Marple returns to her life as a private investigator, determined to solve more cases and bring justice to those who need it.

Dan, busy with his studies and reluctant to enter into the lessons, is more practical than romantic in his relationships, dealing with Cosette solely in those areas common to them, namely in English and around museums. He works in Paris, which is how they originally met. Julie, believing that one learns better if it applies to them, ends up also coaching Dan in how to be more romantic in his interactions with Cosette. As Julie starts to fall for Dan, and it seems he for her, their path forward may hit the further roadblocks of Cosette, and of her goal of working at the museum.

简介：Natak Natas is a secret agent from the oppressive regime of Liquidatzia. He visits his estranged wife Vera, a chemist who is involved with a group of exiles trying to smuggle their compatriots out of Liquidatzia. Almkvist, an honest local policeman and former lover of Vera's, contacts her while investigating the death of one of the refugees. Natak has a list of agents operating in the host country and wants to sell them to the Americans. However, before he can do so, Vera tries to kill him, after an argument about getting her parents out of Liquidatzia. The two struggle and finally come to an agreement: Natak will leave Liquidatzia and help Vera get her parents out, but she will have to give up her knowledge of the secret agents list. As they part ways, Natak realizes that Vera may not be as willing to sacrifice everything for her family as he had thought. He decides to keep her information safe and continue his mission, knowing that she will always be a part of his life.
