The robbers exchange excited glances, then one of them takes a step closer to her, reaching down to touch her cheek. "You're not very pretty," he says, his voice thick with lust. "But you'll do." Felicia bites her lip and nods, hoping that the robbers will take pity on her and spare her life. But the man shakes his head and grabs her wrist, pulling her towards him. He begins to undo her bra and push her dress up, revealing her legs. "We'll make sure you get away with this," he growls, his eyes locked on her. "And maybe even marry you someday." Felicia closes her eyes and prays for a miracle, knowing that she has little chance of survival if she doesn't act quickly. As the robbers continue to rape her and threaten her life, she tries to think of ways to escape or defend herself, but her thoughts are too scattered and panicked to come up with any real solutions. The robbers and their accomplice scramble off the train and run towards the edge of the tracks, firing their pistols in frantic pursuit. The soldiers catch up to them, firing their weapons and shouting orders. The robbers are forced to flee into the darkness, leaving their hostages behind. Mrs. McCarthy and Lady Felicia are freed from their bonds and embrace each other gratefully, tears streaming down their faces. They look back at the wreckage of the train and the destruction it has caused, feeling a sense of relief and hope that they will never have to endure such a harrowing ordeal again.
