The robbers turn to face them, guns raised and ready for action. "Get down!" one of the men yells, aiming his pistol at the approaching soldiers. Felicia crawls towards the floorboards, her heart pounding in her chest as she waits for the worst. But just as she thinks all hope is lost, the train suddenly derails and crashes into a large rock formation. The sound of shattering glass and metal echoes through the carriage as the train comes to a halt. The robbers and their accomplice scramble off the train and run towards the edge of the tracks, firing their pistols in frantic pursuit. The soldiers catch up to them, firing their weapons and shouting orders. The robbers are forced to flee into the darkness, leaving their hostages behind. Mrs. McCarthy and Lady Felicia are freed from their bonds and embrace each other gratefully, tears streaming down their faces. They look back at the wreckage of the train and the destruction it has caused, feeling a sense of relief and hope that they will never have to endure such a harrowing ordeal again.
